A good time to try couples counseling is when you have problems in the relationship that you don’t attend to.

For instance, if one of the partners is rolling their eyes, saying “who cares,” shrugging their shoulders, or blaming the other, these are symptoms that something is wrong, and these are symptoms that don’t heal or get better on their own.

What a couple has to learn is how to communicate in a different way, and those techniques can be learned in couples counseling.
